2023 CB Waterfront Adult League Rules

The Rules of the Summer CB Waterfront Adult Soccer League Open T1 18+ and/or Amalgamated Open T2/Over 35 League:

The teams will be made up using the following principles and adhere to the following guidelines:
1) The minimum age should be players who will be 18 as of December 31, 2023.
2) The exception to this rule is younger players who might be capable of playing against men at which point the parents would sign a waiver form.
3)  In the Open 18+ League, we will run 2 separate T1/T2 and appropriate Promotion/Relegations Rules will be applied from year to year!
4) With the Over 35+ League, we amalgamated T2 Open with Over 35, no restriction in age moving forward with this merger.
5) All players must be registered with the OSA, or they will not be permitted to play ... underage players U18 (2005) will be required to sign special Waiver Forms.
6) Team Captains will provide picture of every registered player along with completed TSA Registration Form.
7) Only those players with picture provided with Team Photo Roster Sheet sheet will be permitted to play by referee.
8) Your team cost includes insurance for 18 players only, call-up players are not permitted unless insurance is in place.
9) Teams & captains can increase their roster up to as many as they would like up to 25, but players must be registered at a cost of $30/player & this must be done 24 hours prior.  Before playoffs begin, team rosters must be set and only those 25 signed are permitted to participate come playoff time.
10) Captains are suggested to complete a roster of 18 players (minimum/game) and add additional players up to a roster size of 25 players.
11) Teams must field a minimum of 9 players (outdoors) at start of game or they will forfeit game.
12) Should both teams be agreeable to letting a registered/insured player play on either team upon informing ref, win, tie, or loss will stand.
13) Trades will be allowed between teams if the players involved are agreeable to the transfer.
14) Slide tackles are permitted in Open 18+ T1/T2 in accordance to FIFA outdoor rules.
15) Scores will be kept, and top team will be determined by Wins (3 points), Tie (1 point) & Loss (0 points). If there is a tie:
     a) best goal differential, b) goals for c) goals against d) head-to-head competition
16) In the case of a "Team NO Show" due to unseen circumstances even with 48 notice, moving forward there will be a League penalty of $150 for 1st infraction, for 2nd $200 and for 3rd $250 and your team may be asked to leave the league with no refund. This change has been made since every team has to make an effort to field a team.  Some teams are now deciding to forfeit if it's a far-away game and/or played on grass, impacting the integrity of the league. Every effort needs to be made to field a team and we now allow ensure that a game can go ahead. We encourage teams to notify the league if a team can't proceed. However, if providing
48 hours notice, there will still be a fine imposed. Any forfeited games will be recorded as a FIFA 3-0 loss.
17) Under NO circumstances once we have published the schedule can we change the schedule, there are limited quality fields ... only under unusual circumstances would we be willing to make any changes to the schedule once published.
18) a League Champion and a Playoff Championship will be awarded at the end of the 4-month season in September/October.
19) Should teams be tied during the Playoff Championship Game, games will be decided by 5 penalty shots.
20) All outdoor games will be played on 11v11 field and maximum playing time is 90 minutes. Indoor games on 6vs6 field format.
21) No team, captain or player shall decide whether a game is playable or not, that discretion lies solely with ref in liaison with Club.
22) In the case of rain-out, home team (listed 1st) will be granted 2 alternative dates when it can be played & team has to respond within 48 hours or away team (listed 2nd) will be given the choice of choosing.  No alternative dates will be entertained & ref must be present.
23) Referees govern games under FIFA rules, ensure players are registered & decisions are final.
24) CB Waterfront Adult League and format to be finalized once the entry of teams has been confirmed.
25) CB Waterfront Adult League will use a head referee along with 2 linesmen ... should a decision be made to go to 1 official and/or just 2 officials ... adjustments in pricing will be provided.

* Please note that any pre-season, Relegation and/or Promotion competition determine teams to be promoted and/or relegated, it will be an added cost not included in above pricing.
Anyone found being abusive to the referee or unsporting in anyway will receive a RED CARD. If a red card is issued, the player sits out the next game. If a second red card is issued to a player in the same season of play, the player will be suspended for 2 games and/or longer depending on the severity of the incident. A third red card in one season will force the club to permanently ban the guilty party from play, and the registration fee will be forfeited. All players are to adhere to FIFA Players Code of Conduct.

Any Team either in T1 or T2 that collects at least 10 Red Cards will be asked to come to a Club/League hearing where there may be a panel made up of Officials, possible other Team captains to render a decision to allow team to continue in the League. Again, it will be at the Club's discretion if any partial Refund would be issued or not.

Any PHYSICAL ASSAULT against a player or referee will result in an automatic permanent league suspension and a police investigation. Physical assault is any hitting, kicking, punching, choking, spitting on, head butting and of course spilling beer. It will not be tolerated. And any referee abuse will be investigated and if the player is found guilty by a panel of 3 captains, they will be asked to leave the league.  This is a serious violent Act and it's at the discretion of Club and/or assault victim to proceed with further action with Ontario Soccer and could result in permanent banishment from any future sanctioned soccer.
